Self-Compassion Workshop on June 18

Hello! It's been quite a while since I’ve been writing blogs. About a year ago I received a completely unexpected part time job offer from Sounds True that was too exciting to pass up on. I decided to continue my private counseling practice in addition to taking this job, which meant I had very little time for our Spiritually Human MeetUp group or other activities.

I'm grateful to say that I had a wonderful experience working for Sounds True for a year and learned a lot! I met Eckhart Tolle on a personal level and traveled around (including a trip to Greece!) to help put on his retreats. I was also highly involved with a program created by Jack Kornfield and Tara Brach, getting the pleasure of meeting both of them as well.

Interacting with these amazing spiritual teachers has been inspiring to say the least, but it also made me miss my own creative pursuits and offering in the world. So, it's time for another MeetUp!!

Self-Compassion Workshop

In life, it's very easy to be hard on ourselves. You may sometimes have a cruel inner dialogue, saying things you would never say out loud to another person. Other times, it is a crafty or almost subconscious felt experience of recurring shame and contempt. You may feel as though you have a repetitive undercurrent of thoughts and feelings that tell you that you aren't quite good enough.

This workshop will offer you an alternative to self-judgement: SELF-COMPASSION. So much of the peace that we desire to experience daily can be found by changing the relationship we have with ourselves. Life as a human being will always be imperfect, involving mistakes and "almosts." The inevitable imperfection in life need not cause us suffering if we can learn to change our beliefs and internal paradigm.

I hope we have a great turn out for the upcoming workshop. It will be wonderful to connect with everyone again. Of course, I'm also always here for 1:1 counseling sessions if you would like individual support. My private practice remains active and deep, throughout my adventures with other learning opportunities. Many blessings to all of you, and I hope you've been enjoying a lovely spring.

Warmly,

Kelley Neumann
