Choosing Love During A Pandemic

My fiancé and I bought our first home in Boulder, Colorado in June. Yay! We are also getting married on August 29 in an intimate family ceremony, and then spending our honeymoon in the Grand Canyon and Zion National Parks. What a surprise to be celebrating love and union when the outer world seems to be feeding fear and separation. It has taken a deep commitment to myself to trust that it is a worthy pursuit of my time and energy right now to focus on building a home and strong foundation with my partner.

The world feels wild and crazy right now, and at this moment, it doesn’t seem like it’s going to get much calmer in the near future. We have a lot to work through as a society and much is being uncovered that requires attention. I notice that many are looking for what their role is in all of it— educate yourself? speak your beliefs? protest? fight the good fight? self-care? focus on your health? use the time for personal projects? hide your head under the sand?

What I know from working with clients is that it is not a ‘one size fits all’ kind of answer. People have been moved in drastically different ways. I encourage each of you to trust your intuition and inspiration during this time of great change.

However, I also know that many of us need reminders about another way to use our life force and derive a sense of purpose:

     Stillness.

Meditation.

Presence.

Love.

What is occurring on the planet right now can be part of a larger awakening process for  humanity. We can choose to shift our consciousness away from fear and divisiveness towards acceptance and trust. Each of you can feel like a contributing member of society when you turn your attention towards the growth of your own consciousness.

How can you open your heart? How can you show compassion towards yourself and a burning world? Are you spending time each day in stillness and faith? Are you praying? Meditating? Breathing? Being?

Recently, I’ve given myself permission to be in more ease with my daily schedule and it has felt really powerful. I’ve been reading spiritual books, recommitting my morning meditation practice, and incubating future creations. I have moments of guilt where I wonder, “Should I be doing more?” However, the truth is that we are doing more when we mind our own presence and spirituality.

We are each a microcosm of the macrocosm. The energy that you are putting into the world is what will be reflected back to you. The awakening of the collective consciousness requires each of us to choose to be an embodiment of higher values. The good news is that this doesn’t have to be work. For most of us, it actually means the exact opposite:

Rest.

While we need our warriors in the world, remember that we also need the mystics. We need the philosophers, dreamers, and forest wanderers. We need those that embody peace and flow.

We all have more alone time right now because of COVID. Please understand the value of using this time for your spiritual practice, connecting with nature, and experiencing stillness. The awakening of the world will happen first within the individual. You are powerful. You are needed. Hear the call within yourself.

Blessings,

Kelley
