Starting a new group series on DREAMS in the Spiritually Human MeetUp group

This morning, my husband told me he had a vivid and intense dream that took him directly back to the greatest trauma from his past. He is in a phase of deep transformation and has been asking the universe to crack him open so that he can heal and discover his true self at a deeper level.

Sometimes, it’s not easy for us to open the next phase of our own spiritual growth. We may not know how to “crack open” or hear what our next step is in life. Dreams are a powerful way that our soul and subconscious can speak with us. Dreams communicate to us through symbol, image, and feeling. To some, they seem cryptic and mysterious. Maybe it’s better to disregard all of them as a confusing process of stress release while we sleep!

To others, however, listening to our dreams is another mystical tool of personal development. We can access memories and emotions that we have either forgotten or ignored amidst our busy lives. We can try new experiences (like flying!) that may not even be available to us in our waking life.

My husband remained reflective about his dream experience and we had a good talk about the power of dreams to help us access buried parts of ourselves. It helps enormously to speak to others about our dreams. The ethereal journeys that happen while we are sleeping need to be contemplated and shared once we are fully awake in order for their hidden treasures to be found.

So many times, I wake up and think, “That was strange. I wonder what that dream was about.” Yet amazingly, if I revisit the symbols and narrative a few hours later, meaning and possibility begin to emerge that I couldn’t see clearly in the sleepy state after waking up.

I’ve made very big decisions in my life based upon a powerful dream. One of them even triggered my entrance into my Master’s degree program I finished last May! In our dreams, the conscious mind and ego get out of the way. Our soul can give us impressions and information about what really matters on our journey.

It’s very possible to improve our ability to remember and interpret our dreams. They don’t need to remain a mysterious realm which is so difficult to understand that it’s easier to simply ignore what happens at night. Dreams can be another interesting and playful means of self-discovery on our spiritual path.

I laugh though, because not everyone is as lucky as my husband to live with someone who loves talking about dreams in the morning! You may need to join a community to find people that share that same passion and desire.

This Thursday, February 3, I start leading another series in the Spiritually Human MeetUp group called Dreams, Symbols, and the Subconscious. My friend, Art Clifford (who is a software engineer and approaches dreams with the adept knowledge of a true technician) will join me as co-host. We hope you’ll participate for an engaging, light hearted, and meaningful approach to dream interpretation. You may even make some new, mindful friends in the process. :)

Looking forward to seeing you soon!

Blessings,

Kelley Neumann
